5 Celebrity DIY Hair Masks You Must Try

We often look to celebrities for beauty tips. I mean, why wouldn’t we? We know they aren’t perfect, but they look nearly flawless when we see them on the red carpet.

But, they’re human and, just like us, are constantly looking for ways to stay looking their best. And many of them have their own beauty hacks that work for them.

We see celebs share many beauty tricks, including for skin, hands, and lips. But we know why you’re here...for hair care suggestions!

We’ll take a look at five celebrities and some products they use to keep their hair flourishing.

1. Kourtney Kardashian

The Kardashians are arguably the most well-known family in the country. Even if you don’t watch their show, chances are you know who they are! So, it’s no surprise that Kourtney Kardashian’s hair tricks made our list.

Kourtney is a believer in using avocado and Manuka honey. Manuka honey is organic honey that is made by bees that pollinate the Manuka bush in New Zealand. This type of honey is known to be very helpful on hair or skin. But, we don’t all have Kardashian bank accounts, and Manuka honey can be quite expensive. So, as an alternative, regular, organic honey will work as a substitute for this blend.

Kourtney refers to her hair mixture as an avocado smoothie, and she prepares it by mixing half of an avocado, two tablespoons of honey, half a lemon, and two to three tablespoons of olive oil. After blending, she applies it to her hair and lets it sit for an hour with a hair wrap or shower cap.

 2. Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra is an influence to many. She is an Indian actress, singer, and film producer. And, fun fact, she won the Miss World pageant in 2000 and is one of India’s most popular entertainers.

Time Magazine named Chopra as one of the 100 most influential people globally, and Forbes listed her among the World’s 100 most powerful women.

These are just a few of the accolades she has, so let’s say she’s accomplished A LOT. And if you’ve seen her hair, you probably want to take her advice when it comes to hair tips and tricks.

Priyanka’s hair blend was passed down from her mother. She mixes two tablespoons of yogurt with one tablespoon of honey and one egg. After whisking it all together, she smooths it onto her hair.

3. Cardi B

There aren’t many music artists that can top Cardi B’s resume since she came on the scene a few years ago.

The Grammy award winner for Best Rap Album became the ONLY woman to win the award as a solo artist and the first female rapper to be nominated for Album of the Year in 15 years!

She is the only female rapper to have multiple Hot 100 number ones with solo songs and has been recognized by Forbes as one of the most influential female rappers of all time. In 2018, Forbes also recognized her as one of the world’s top 100 most influential people.

In 2020, Billboard honored her as Woman of the Year, so it’s no shock that people want to know her beauty tips as well!

Cardi shared a DIY hair mask that she uses for her and her daughter’s hair, including one avocado, one egg, a dollop of honey, castor oil, and a big scoop of coconut oil.

She takes the ingredients and mixes them in a blender until smooth and creamy, with no avocado chunks remaining. Once ready, she slathers the treatment over her and her daughter’s hair.

 4. Miranda Kerr

Most of us are familiar with the infamous Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Miranda Kerr was one of Victoria’s Secret angels and was the first Australian Victoria’s Secret model.

Kerr has her own organic skincare products, KORA Organics, and has written a self-help book. She consistently ranked on the Forbes list of the highest-earning models and is married to the CEO of Snapchat.

Miranda’s recipe is quite simple. All you’ll need is two tablespoons of coconut oil and one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar.

We know, we know....apple cider vinegar does not give off the best scent, but it is said to have many health benefits! Coconut oil is said to hydrate your hair, and apple cider vinegar is said to make your hair shinier.

Mix the ingredients and apply them to your hair after shampooing and before conditioning. Leave the mask on for three to five minutes, and then wash it off.

5. Blake Lively

Gossip Girl, anyone? Blake Lively has been acting since a young age but started gaining a lot of recognition with the success of the CW drama Gossip Girl.

And she’s married to Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds, and the couple shares three beautiful daughters.

Blake helps maintain her gold locks through a simple hair mask that might sound strange to some. She uses....mayonnaise.

Yup, we said mayonnaise! Lively’s mom taught her how to make this mask, and she keeps up the routine to this day.

She puts some mayonnaise on the bottom half of her hair and then uses her regular shampoo. The mayonnaise helps so that the shampoo won’t dry her hair out too much, avoiding split ends.
