The FDA-Cleared Device Born From One Family's Hair Loss Story
The iRESTORE Founder’s Story

Hair loss affects millions of people — and it’s about so much more than appearance. It’s about confidence, identity, and how you feel when you look in the mirror. I know because I watched it happen to someone I love.
What started as a personal problem in my family turned into a mission I’ve been on for over a decade: to make effective, clinically studied hair growth technology accessible to everyone — not just the people who can afford expensive clinic visits.
This is how iRESTORE started, why it works, and what keeps me going.
It Started With My Dad
About twelve or thirteen years ago, my dad was losing his hair. It was affecting his confidence, and he started exploring every option on the market — drugs, surgical procedures, in-clinic laser treatments. All of it was expensive. All of it was cumbersome. And none of it was something he could realistically keep up forever.

At one point I had a light-bulb moment. I thought, why is he doing this? The technology to stimulate hair growth already existed — it was being used in clinics. But why couldn’t it be brought into the home? Why couldn’t it be made simple, convenient, and part of a routine people could actually stick with?
That single question became the foundation for everything I’ve built since.
I Tested What Was Out There — and It Wasn’t Good Enough
Before I built anything, I bought and measured nearly every hair growth device on the market. Caps, combs, helmets — you name it, I tested it. What I found was alarming. A lot of these products weren’t outputting what they claimed. The overall quality was very low.

So my mission became clear: build a device that truly delivers on its promise. I wanted to make sure that when we launched our product, it would genuinely be the best. There would be no doubt that you were getting the output that was promised.
That gave me confidence that the technology itself would work. What I didn’t know was whether people would actually buy it.

The Moment I Knew This Was Real
We listed the product on Amazon, and someone bought it. Then another person bought it. And another. I remember watching the reviews start to come in — four and a half stars — and people were leaving amazing feedback. That was the moment I realized there was something much bigger here. People actually wanted this.
At the time, we had around 100 customers. I decided to call every single one of them. I asked if they’d be willing to come in and share their experience on camera.
One of those customers was a woman named Micky, who was 68 years old and going through hair loss. Nothing had worked for her before. She showed up with her before-and-after photos and explained that iRESTORE had helped her get her hair back.
I remember her on camera with tears streaming down her face — genuine emotion — because she had already given up on her hair. That moment made everything real for me. It wasn’t just numbers on a screen anymore. It was real people dealing with a real problem and actually getting their hair back.
That experience solidified how important it was that I continue this mission and keep expanding the impact this business could have.

The Science Behind Why This Works
Some people ask me if an at-home device can really match what you’d get in a clinic. I understand the skepticism. But the answer is yes — and there’s real, peer-reviewed science behind it.
Low-Level Light Therapy (LLLT) uses specific wavelengths of red light — typically around 650–670 nm — to stimulate cellular activity in hair follicles. The light penetrates the scalp and targets the mitochondria, the energy centers of your cells. It boosts blood flow, reduces inflammation, and encourages dormant follicles to re-enter the active growth phase. Scientists call this process photobiomodulation, and it’s been studied for over 50 years.

LLLT is FDA-cleared for treating pattern hair loss in both men and women. Our iRESTORE devices use the same type of power levels and wavelengths found in professional clinical settings. The only difference is that you use it at home, on your schedule.

It was important to me from the very beginning that I wasn’t asking people to take a leap of faith. I wanted the science to speak for itself. Here’s what the clinical research shows.

Clinic-Grade Technology — In Your Living Room
A lot of people struggle with hair loss but can’t afford going into a clinic and paying for procedures that cost hundreds of dollars each time. And since hair loss is a lifetime issue, those costs keep adding up.
With an iRESTORE device, it’s a one-time purchase. It’s well made, designed to last for years, and uses the same type of power levels and wavelengths you’d get in a professional setting. The difference is that you can do it at home while you’re on a Zoom call or watching Netflix.

That convenience is what makes the technology truly accessible. And one of my core missions has always been to make these treatments available to more people — not just those who can afford a clinic.

Why I Built iRESTORE the Way I Did
From the start, I wanted iRESTORE to stand for something: healthy, safe, proven ways to promote hair growth. Every product we make is FDA-cleared and clinically tested.
Our low-level light therapy devices — the Elite, Professional, and Essential — promote thicker, fuller hair and are completely drug-free. No messy applications. No side effects. LLLT stimulates healthy cells, increasing blood circulation, oxygen, and nutrients to your scalp, creating the right environment for hair growth. All from the comfort of your home.
From Hair to Skin - Our Customers Led the Way
Every month my team and I interview customers and send out surveys to understand what people want and how we can improve. One theme kept coming up over and over: people wanted an LED face mask.
I looked at what was already on the market. The soft masks were flimsy and would often turn yellow over time because of the silicone material. The hard masks were heavy, uncomfortable, and didn’t fit the face well. So I asked myself: how do we solve that?

My idea was to create a hybrid mask that combined the best of both — the lightweight flexibility of a soft mask with the sturdiness and quality of a hard-shell design. We added an anti-yellow coating, more LEDs than competing products, and made sure it delivers the right wavelengths and power levels to actually produce results.
The result was the Illumina face mask. The launch exceeded our expectations. We sold out multiple times, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and we could barely keep it in stock — which is a great problem to have.
It was incredibly encouraging to see something I’d poured so much time, energy, and effort into being so well received. Moments like that make it clear that we’re building the right products and genuinely helping people.
